The no-joke-best-sculpting-workout-ever. As much as we all love and appreciate a good workout on the mat using weights, nothing (and we mean nothing) compares to how your body is challenged on the reformer! A plank or lunge on the floor is child's play compared to a plank or lunge on a sliding carriage! The reformer is must-have workout for your workout routine. It makes you wicked strong and seriously sculpted with no bulk. And the class is interesting and fun, challenging you with new moves that make you feel oh-so-powerful, despite your shaking muscles!
Our Instructors. Our reformer classes are taught by pilates & yoga certified instructors with 200-600 hours of teacher training from accredited fitness certification programs. [Note: this is far different from studios teaching people in-house within a 1-week time frame] We limit our classes to 8 students and give our attention to each person to adjust, improve and modify every exercise in subtle ways. Our extensive teacher training experience gives us an eye for tiny details that will make you work harder, smarter and safer!
Our Approach. Balance. We intentionally don't aim to make our classes the most extreme workout of your life because that comes at a cost...and because we adapt to clients of all abilities working out together in the same class. We DO make our classes very challenging and you can expect to have your muscles shake or to need modifications or to take a break. But we are strategic in how we structure our classes so that you work all of your muscles in a balanced way (to give you balanced muscle tone and alignment), and we never make you load up your springs or hold an exercise excessively long and risk your safety simply to say we are the hardest workout in town. You will often be sore after our reformer classes, but still able to workout the next day because that is the healthy thing to do!
Our Moves. There is endless creativity and new exercises with each class. We teach standard fitness moves on the reformer (i.e. lunges, squats, planks, rollbacks), create our own and sometimes include exercises from the traditional Pilates repertoire (in our Pilates-designated classes). Our sculpting is slow but we also use our reformer jumpboard to give you a cardio workout and burn more calories. Our reformer classes are incredibly effective and fun so be warned...you'll be hooked.
The Equipment. With a gliding carriage, ropes, handles, spring resistance and sliding crossbar, you'll be amazed at what you can do on this pretty piece of equipment. The Allegro 2 is a reinvented, modernized reformer that can be used for more than Pilates, and that's exactly what we do. With spring resistance, you can adjust the intensity of each exercise to your personal preference, and change your spring settings over time to increase intensity as you get stronger. And the instability of the gliding carriage with challenge you in ways you've never experienced before.
