Hi everyone! I’m writing a quick note to share some information regarding a change with our Reformer Essentials class.
As a new business, we will occasionally make a few changes to our services, packages, etc. as we learn more about what our clients want or need most, and what works behind- the-scenes at the studio. And Reformer Essentials is one such change!
Since opening this summer, we’ve offered a Freehouse 101/Reformer Intro class as an entry-level option to learning how to move on the reformer while getting a light workout from the class. These intro classes were offered at an intro price to give new students a low-risk way to test out the reformer before signing up for a full-fledge workout.
Soon after though, we felt there was a way to increase the intensity of the intro class while still making it approachable for those new to the reformer, and our Reformer Essentials workout was born. And while it originated from an intro class, it actually turned into a full-fledge workout of its own! So to reflect that, starting 11/4 it will be priced as a regular reformer class (and we now offer a new client 3-class package at a nice intro price to test out any of our classes, including reformer).
Reformer Essentials will continue to be a challenging workout for all levels, centering around the classic reformer moves that are easy to follow but still make your muscles burn! [note: these are my favorite go-to moves for my own personal workout] It’s the recommended starting point for new reformer students while Reformer Flex is where we add in some creative and complicated exercise variations to challenge our more experienced clients.
We hope you enjoy our reformer classes! Please know that we are so very committed to keeping our equipment classes affordable despite average rates for reformer/equipment classes being much higher around Center City. And I thank you so much for your support, positive energy and hard work! Please feel free to contact me directly any time with questions or feedback about anything at the studio.

No registration required, just show up!
Jumping on a trampoline feels like something you do for fun! Or something you did when you were a kid. So is it really good exercise? Definitely!
1. You have to use more muscles to stabilize since the landing surface is unsteady. Your outer glutes, inner thighs, obliques and many more muscles 'turn on' as you jump up and down to keep you steady and centered on the rebounder and to help you execute different choreography (moving laterally or at a diagonal). This happens even more than on spring rebounders, because the bellicon bungees are more elastic.
2. There's no impact to your joints. The bungee bands around the bellicon rebounder absorb all of the impact (even more than spring rebounders) and that leaves your joints happy! Particularly your back, hips, knees and ankles. Plus you'll be strengthening the muscles around the joints to better protect them from any other high-impact activities you do throughout your week.
3. It's the best kind of exercise that you can do for your lymphatic system. The anti-gravitational jumping motion is the most effective way to 'pump' the fluid through your body to remove bacteria, viruses and waste. This helps keep you healthy and ward off disease!
Every bounce on the bellicon rebounder engages and strengthens all of the 638 muscles in your body, along with your heart, lungs, bones and lymphatic system. Oh yeah, and it's fun!
But a heads up that we'll teach you a slightly different way of jumping than you may have done as a kid on a trampoline. Rather than jumping too high, we'll teach you how to strongly jump down into the rebounder to more fully engage your leg muscles with each jump. You'll get the hang of it in no time and be warned that the workout may become quite addictive!
